Adding to the red brick villa, Copper Box is a contemporary kitchen and living intervention invigorating the host home in a mature and relevant aesthetic. The scheme provides a free flowing remodelled kitchen and dining space that is lit by a generous roof light which washes light evenly through the living environment. The walls and roof of the extension have been finished in large format copper shingles with careful attention to integrated detailing concealing the workings of the home. The rich copper sheets will continue to mature and respond to its location over time, complementing the quality and age of the main building. 

Connection to the garden has been optimised by the use of a large format corner sliding door that seamlessly slide away into discrete pockets within the facade; blurring the boundaries between inside and out. As a result, the home functions as a totally open plan environment.
