SMALE HOUSE for VODAFONE
Southwark | London

Set within the nouveau development within the Southwark backstreets, Smale House - an extensive facility for Vodafone HQ - was significantly refurbished and part extended in a bold black aesthetic. Concealing the original aged structure, the new face to the headquarters is a glazed atrium extension characterised by expanded mesh metal cladding; contrasting the iconic red logo.

The new entrance sequence void is intersected by a series of feature staircases. Providing spaces for social gathering at ground floor level with a reception, behind the atrium space, 8,500m2 of internal accommodation has been refurbished and split into a range of uses associated to the business. Complementing the overarching scheme, at the front of the premises the landscaping has been fully re-imagined and was the venue for the opening launch event; led by London Mayor, Sadiq Khan.
